Golf Tips -
The way you grip your golf club is very important in determining where the ball goes when you make contact with it and where the ball goes is directly proportionate to how much fun you have playing golf. So it goes without saying that the correct grip is important to your enjoyment of the game. Some of the best golf grip tips are the simplest tips and the golf grip tip I would give you first is that the grip is really simple and can even be customized to meet each golfer’s need.

Many instructors are insistent that their students have what is called an overlapping grip. That is always their first golf grip tip. An overlapping grip is where you wrap your hands around the club and you interlock the pinky finger of your bottom hand with the pointer finger of your top hand. This is a great golf grip tip, and for those of us that have been playing for years it is the most comfortable way to grab a club, but I have seen the old baseball grip make a comeback and some people are having great success with it.

Basic Golf Grip Tips

In my experience it doesn’t matter if you use the overlapping grip or the base ball grip just as long as it is comfortable and the club won’t go flying out of your hands when you swing. So my first golf grip tip is to make whichever grip is comfortable for you. There are, however, some mechanical golf grip tips that you need to follow for a successful grip.

Your thumbs need be on the shaft of the club pointing towards the club head. So even if you do not interlock your fingers you still need to have the thumb from your top hand straight down the shaft of the club and into your bottom hand and the thumb of your bottom hand straight down the shaft of the club.

This prevents the club from turning over in your hands on impact and straightens your shot out. Remember to just grip the club hard enough to hold it in your hands. Don’t choke the club or else it will not have the free range of motion in your hands it will need to make clean contact. Experiment with your grip, keep the basics in mind, and have fun with it. In the end fun is what golf is all about.
