Golf Swing Tips -
Ok so let us get some stuff out of the way right off the bat. “Grip it and rip it” is not an adequate golf swing theory for amateurs and it also rarely works for any professionals not named Tiger Woods. The idea behind golf swing theory is to explain why certain things in your swing cause certain results and to try and help correct the undesirable results. A golf swing is a patience exercise and golf swing theory is the ultimate study in self control.
Using golf swing theory let us explain why some things happen to the average golfer. For instance, let us examine the world of the slice which is probably the most common ailment known to the golfer. When you set up for your swing all parts of your body need to be parallel to the target, you need to be square to the ball, and you need to have the ball in the correct place in your stance.
Any variation from any of this will cause the ball to go off on its own. The most common problems are the feet not parallel to the target and the ball not in the right place in the stance. Let us just say that if the ball location in your stance cannot be marked by your feet in some way then it is in the wrong place. A full stride in front of your stance is not where the ball needs to be.
Now Hit The Ball
Golf swing theory suggests that the way you grip the club is also very important. If you have the club turned in your grip then the club will turn back around when you make contact and that will push your ball off into new dimensions of the golf course you have never seen. When you look down your thumbs should be lined up straight with the shaft of the club. A lot of golfers wrap their thumbs around the grip and this causes nothing but problems. So keep your grip straight and that will definitely help.
The final part of the golf swing theory is making contact with the ball. If you have set yourself up in the proper stance, have the correct grip, and have the ball in your stance correctly then the swing itself should be very mechanical. Simply take the club back straight while keeping your left arm straight if you are right handed and your right arm straight if you are left handed. Make sure you pivot on one axis and then keep your head down on the follow through. Trying to kill the ball will always result in disaster. A controlled swing will win every time. Have fun!
