Buying a pre-owned golf GPS unit can be a sensible decision if you want to improve your golf game without spending a lot of money. There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying a used system unless of course it is broken or not functioning properly.

Before you make your purchase, you should at least get a basic understanding of the GPS units that are out there. Know ahead of time what features you would like to have in your gadget. The seller should be able to provide you with a list of features, and disclose any defects if there are any. It’s also a good idea to look at the newer units, so that you can compare your options.

Ask the seller if the GPS unit has been refurbished. Refurbished units may have different modifications and variations, because they use reconstructed parts.

Make sure when you purchase the unit that the tracking capability of locations, greens, holes, creeks, bunkers and other essentials are working properly.

The digital scorecard is a nice feature to consider. This makes it easier to record your progress. Additionally, the recorded scores can be used for future reference.

The personal location view is another worthwhile feature. The actual position of the player is displayed in accordance with the position of the ball to the hole, which can lessen the player’s wild guesses and proximal measurements.

If you do have trouble with your pre-owned golf GPS unit, you can always take it to one of the many service centers that are available.
