The past few years has shown less and less younger people playing sports like golf. But what is the real reason for this? It certainly isn’t down to kids not wanting to use the electric golf trolleys.
One of the reasons why kids do not wish to play the game is because they really can't stand to play a game one of their parents play. You are not going to be too popular at school if you do play golf and are seen in some of the stupid clothes that some courses insist the golfers have to wear there. I remember when i was at school which wasn't too long ago that the people who played sports like golf were only friends with the other ones that played golf which I always felt was wrong.
I do not understand why people see golf as a old mans sport and not like all the other major sports like football and rugby. The fact is that golf is regarded as one of the high profile sports but the younger generations really do not see it as one. To a certain extent this is untrue as I know an 8yr old boy who loves the game and plays it every Saturday. The problem is he wants to give it up to play football and gardening club instead. I really do not see how gardening can possibly be better than playing golf? Is the game really seen to be that bad and boring to younger generations? To me I have never liked watching or playing the sport but I can certainly see why it is liked so much.
To be honest with you I certainly think that kids would benefit from playing golf than a lot of the other sports out there. One of the best things golf has is that the players really don't swear, throw tantrums and everything else footballers love to do which is great as it teachers kids the real way to behave when you are playing a sport. Golf itself only pays out to the players who play in the tournaments so I can see how could be see to deter people who want to earn the money every week like the footballers but in my honest opinion it takes a lot more skill to play golf than it does football.
So charge up those golf batteries kids and get playing!
